There are several benefits of being one of our UK Business of the Week featured companies, not least of all the additional exposure you will receive from our social media accounts.
The first place you will be seen is on our Facebook page. Although this is a new page, we are gaining new followers on the page almost daily. If you have not yet done so please go to our UK Business of the Week Facebook Page and click the LIKE button.
As well as the posts on our pages, we are also members of several UK Business Facebook groups to which we regularly contribute. Your featured listing will appear on our posts to those groups throughout the week of your feature. We will link to both your website and your Facebook pages.
We also have several Twitter accounts, including our Twitter Page Build UK Business Directory, that are used on a daily basis for posts. We will post a short url link to your pages on twitter. Short urls do actually add to your overall link power, even though they activate via an external website. Google treats short urls almost as importantly as direct links.
One other place your links will appear is via our blog posts. We have several blog accounts that are updated several times each month with new posts. We write a monthly feature on each of our blogs, with links to all of the featured companies that month. This is one of the most valuable ways to increase your inbound links.
The fact that we will be posting your links via our social media accounts has one other major benefit for your website. Recent SEO research has shown that links to other people’s websites carry more weight in search engines than links to your own websites. Google will come to associate together your social media accounts with your own website, and any links you post to your own pages carry far less weight. By linking to other peoples pages from your account, Google sees this as an additional vote for that website, and the power your vote carries is increased.
